Hi everyone! This is Nerea. Today I'm going to show you how I've made these postcards and envelopes using stencils. Stencils are very versatile and you can make very different crafts with each of them.
Snail Mail crafts are a trend nowadays. The main idea is taking your time to make elaborated postcards and sending them by ordinary mail, in contrast of today's rushed lifestyle and the extended use of email.
Making this kind of postcards is a way of maintaining the use of traditional mailing. We can make a very original card including a decorated envelope, handmade accessories, pockets with surprises inside, etc.
We have to make the elements of each snail mail craft match each other, working on a uniform style and using a common theme.
For today's project I didn't want to use scrapbook paper, in stead I wanted to create my own decorations on cardboard and paper using stencils and other elements. I wanted to make summery designs. These are the materials I have used:
Normal and textured cardboard
Decorative elements like bows and other objects

The first step I took was to paint on the different types of paper using the stencils:
I chose to make a triptych design. I used 3 textured white cardboard pieces and I stenciled on them on both sides using ink and my 3 favourite summer stencils. I then used washi tape to stick the edges together.
I made brown cardboard pocket to put surprises inside.
All the words on this project have been stenciled with the alphabet stencil.
The principal element is the letter. I decorated a sheet of paper using the stars stencil in different colours.
I usually send tags: I have used Kraft cardboard and stencil paste. I have then tied a ribbon.
Another element I have included is an origami fish made with the palmtree decorated paper.
With the other decorated cardboard pieces I have made small envelopes to put inside the coral an seashell decorated papers and wooden silhouettes:
On the big piece of cardboard I have used the dotted stencil with blue tones to make the envelope and on a separate piece of paper I have made a banner with the word "Carta" ("Letter") written on it.
Another surprise gift I have included in the envelope is a decorated bag of sequins.
I hope it provides you with inspiration for the letters you send. You can make amazing crafts with not many materials!
