Lighthouse

Hello there! Today I'm going to show you how to make this lighthouse painting on a wooden board. The first step is to prime the board with the diluted paint in the colour “Linen” (Mya ChalkPaint).

Afterwards I painted the lighthouse in “Red Rust”, “Linen”, “Seagreen” and “Mustard” colours of the Mya Chalkpaint collection. The fence is painted with the “Chocolate” and “Linen”· colours.

Once dry, to achieve an aged effect, I applied unevenly the “Burnt Umber” colour from the Markal Paintstiks brand.

The first thing to do on the board is a 3d effect with the stencil paste using a spatula, to simulate the ground where the lighthouse will be placed.

On the upper half of the board I painted the sky and the clouds (using the “Turquoise” and “Linen” Mya colours) with a sponge; and the sun (with the “Mustard” colour).

Right next to the sky, using the Mya colours “Turquoise”, “Seagreen” and “Linen” I painted the sea.

The textured ground is then painted using a sponge and the Mya “Taupe Gray” colour.

To achieve an aged effect, the Markal colour “Burnt Umber” is applied on the edges of the board. Finally the lighthouse and the fence are stuck on the board and the varnish is applied.

I hope you enjoyed it!
