Today our project is very fresh and summer-like. This style is very colourful and involves different textures, pictures and shapes related to the summer holidays, the sun, the sea, etc.
This is the material I used:
Two pieces of cotton fabric (18 x 50 cm)
The first step is to stencil the leafs using Markal paint. You have to take into account the size and the number of pictures you want to transfer on your design.
Some of the leaves have more intensity and therefore appear to be in from of the ones that are painted with less intensity.
Next thing I have done is to sew black thread with a sewing machine around the contour of the leaves, trying to make an irregular effect.
Next step is to stamp with permanent ink.
Once everything is dry we can transfer the pictures on the fabric. For this purpose we must cover the picture with medium gel and stick them on the surface. After it dries we can then rub the celulose off after wetting it with water. Remember that the photographs must be printed using a laser printer and inverted (mirror effect).
Afterwards I applied the stencil paste on the Mandala Stencil.
We have been working on two pieces of fabric and it is now the time to sew them together, but first I have made a chain with beads and sewn it to the top part to use it as a hanger or to use it to keep it rolled.
Finally I have gone over the Letter Stencils with a felt tip marker, I personally prefered big letters for this project but there are different sizes to choose from.
Do you like the results?
I hope you find this to be an inspiring way to use your summer photographs.
See you soon
