This project is a birthday card for Javier. I have used this format before several times. On the outside of the envelope you can write the name and address, and in the inside you can write the message.
This is a Kraft Tex card, created with paper and fabric fibers. It is so resistant that it allows you to sew it, stick it and paint it. Its hardness is perfect for this type of project.
Firstly, I cut the envelope and did the foldings. After covering with tape the area where the address is going to be located on I applied a layer of gesso to the whole surface (on both sides).
Next step was to create a texture with the medium gel. It must have the correct consistency in order to make string-like shapes and avoiding it to get blotched.
Then I used acrylic paint, and although It's a birthday card I chose dark colours.
The process was very easy, I first applied a light coloured layer and then I darkened It using the “dry brush” technique.
For the background I have combined the stencil “Deco Scrapbooking 061” with the “Deco Scrapbooking 046” and the “Deco fondo 064” ones.
This is how the back of the envelope looks like:
This is the inside:
The last step would be to write the text on the inside. I think I will use the same coloured paint as the leaves.
This is for you, happy birthday Javier!
